Well, I went back to work this week. I had dreaded Monday for months. I knew I needed to keep it together in the morning as best as possible, but on Sunday night I was a mess. I was headed to bed and Joe was staying up to do homework and then feed her at 11pm. I was laying in bed and of course couldn't sleep when Addi woke up to eat. I had to get up and hold her again...She was being snuggly and I just cried and cried while holding her...I hated the idea of not seeing every single smile. Now here we are and it's Thursday. I've made it this far pretty well. I'm exhausted, but part of that is due to Joe being out of town and also having parent-teacher conferences Monday and Wednesday evening. The days have gone by faster than I thought they would. I can't wait until 3:15 gets here everyday so I can get home to see her. I need to do so much around the house, but I just want to play with Addi...maybe I can convince Joe to do housework! hahahahaha! J\K honey!

Enough about how I'm doing...Addi has been pretty good. She is of course more adorable by the day. She has gotten her right foot in her mouth a time or two and she has rolled from belly to back twice. She LOVES to just be talked to. She will lay on her playmat or on a blanket for an hour as long as you are keeping her entertained. She loves any toys that play music and light up. I bought a toy at a yard sale for a dollar and that was the best dollar I've ever spent! She can still wear a size one diaper, but I ran out of those and I'm now using Pampers 1-2's. She wears 3-6 month clothes now. Anything sleepers with feet in in them have to be 6 mo. I just packed up her summer clothes and everything too small. I never thought I'd be one to be sad over clothes, but now I realize it's not about the clothes at all but about her being "so" big now and growing up so fast!

Our addition has all the draywall up and done now and the walls are primered. We are planning to paint this weekend and Monday and Tuesday since I'm on fall break!

A few fun and/or funny things!

So the other night we were getting things ready to bath Addi. We always put her little bath tub up on the kitchen table so we don't have to bend over or sit in the floor...I was getting the tub and stuff ready and Joe was in the nursery taking her clothes and diaper off. It is a pretty short walk from the nursery to the kitchen table, but when Joe had made it about 10 steps, Addi started peeing! lol It got all over the floor and some on him. She quit about the time he got to the table and as soon as her bottom hit the water, she started peeing again! I don't know where that much pee came from! haha

This week tummy time is becoming more tolerable to Addi. I had just posted a thread on justmommies.com about her not rolling over yet and the next day she rolled from her belly to back for the first time on her own. She has only done it 2-3 times, but she is getting the hang of it. She is also getting her toes in her mouth now! It's so cute so I grab the video camera to tape it and she quits! We also thing she is starting to teeth now. Yesterday was a rough day and we turned to orajel and it seemed to help her. She is slobbering like crazy and chewing on everything, especially her fists and her passie!

Addi and Emma

This past Friday, Ashley Shockey and her little girl Emma came over to my moms to visit. Here are some pics we shot while they were over.

Shock was opening some stored milk and spilled some on Emma! haha I guess Addi wanted to lick it off! hahaha!

Our addition

Well, slow progress is still being made. For those of you who don't know, we are adding on a family room and a large master bedroom. We are also putting in new ceramic tile floors throughout the kitchen, new backsplash, and new countertops. We are having two Thanksgivings here this year so it has to be done by the middle of Nov. We went this past week and ordered a new sectional sofa with a lg. square ottoman to match, a rectangle shaped ottoman that the lid opens up for toy storage (it is leather to match the sofa) we also ordered a new dining room table with six stools (it's one of those high tables) and also a buffet to match the table. Everything is going to be soooo nice when it is finished. We have the drywall up in the addition and it is in the process of being sanded. Later this week we are opening up the wall between the kitchen and new family room so there is a pass through! I need to get paint picked next week! YAY!!

Gma Karen

My mom recently tore her achilies tendon and has surgery to repair it this past Wed. Addi and I have been going over there daily to help her get around. Since the Drs. didn't give her anything to get around with, one of her friends brought her a wheelchair to use which has been a blessing. I'm taking her back to the Dr. Tomorrow (Wed.) to have a hard cast put on. I hope everything still looks Ok when we go to the Dr. and she gets a better idea of how long she will be off of it. I know it is killing her knowing that I'm having to take Addi elsewhere when heading back to work.
Here I sit while Addi sleeps this morning feeling so guilty. I was soooo tired this morning and Addi was ready to get up. I caught myself getting angry at her b\c she wouldn't go back to sleep. So we get up and head to the nursery to change her diaper and as soon as I layed her down she gave me the biggest sweetest smile. I think to myself, how can you get mad about having to be up with that amazing little girl...you only have 4 days left at home with her before going back to work. I'm dreading going back to work and possibly missing some of her firsts! I'm going to do my best to just enjoy these final few days with her...Mommy and Addi time is going to be great the rest of the week!

Today we went to Exploration Acres. We knew there wouldn't be anything Addi could do at this age, but I really wanted to have this family outing for our first holiday together. There were a bunch of us! Joe, Addi and I, Dana, Jay and Jaycie,;Val, Nick, Cheyann, and Tatum; Jim Suzanne, Khloe, and Kendyll; Jon, Lorna, and Reid; Jen, Dan, and Bradley; and Emily, Jay, Collin, Carter, and Callie! It was super fun and we got lots of pics! I can't believe just a couple of years ago all of us were together having parties, playing cards, going skiing, going to the bars etc. (minus the kiddies of course) and now we all have these beautiful babies and we continue to do fun things together as families. Some of the guys play sosftball together and all the wifes and kids go along to cheer, a couple of us girls play vball once a week and the guys and kids come and support us! Life is great! I'm so THANKFUL for my family and friends! I love you all and your babies and would take them all in if I had to! All of you are great parents!
For those of you who didn't know, my mom has Parkinsons Disease. She recently fell and tore her achilies tendon. On Friday she found out that she is having surgery on Wed. Pretty bad timing considering she is babysitting Addi when I go back to work which is in just a week! After her surgery she will be in a cast and they said crutches, but with her parkinsons we don't think she will be able to use those so more than likely she will be in a wheelchair for anywhere from 6-10 weeks! When I heard this news I broke down....the stress of her going through this and also knowing that she isn't going to be able to handle Addi from a wheelchair. So...after a couple of hours of crying and totally stressing I guess we have a plan for the next 1 weeks. First of all, tomorrow I'm going to see about getting one more week off work so that I can help mom at the house. That would be spectacular if I can do that. When I do go back, my aunt will have Addi on Mondays and Tuesdays, Joes sister Heather will have her on Wednesdays, Joes mom will have her Thursdays and my sister will have her Fridays...Ugh, poor baby won't be able to get used to anyone. At least 2 of the days she will get to be at our house. I'm pretty stressed about going back to work. I can't wait to see all my students, but on the other hand I dread not seeing Addi all day long. I don't want to miss her rolling over or her giggles or even her poopie explosions. Everone always said it was inexplainable how much you love your own child, but I realize that they are right and you really don't understand that until you have your own! I love being a mommy more than anything!

MY BOPPY...Don't touch!
