Wow, where has time gone? Hands down Addi is the best kid ever. She is so much fun, hilarious (she gets that from me :) ) inquisitive, smart, ACTIVE, full of personality (or attitude). She is about 21 lbs now and I'm proud to say that she is still rear facing in her Graco MyRide 65. It doesn't bother her at all so she will stay that way until at least two. We finally got rid of the bottle at 18 mos. It was easier than I thought it would be, but she definitely doesn't drink nearly as much milk now, which I guess is a negative. She recently has become VERY attached to her passie or as she says "boppy" I figure I'm ok with it for a while longer, but once she turns two we will get serious about getting rid of it.
It's great getting to be home with her everyday! We are so blessed that I am able to do this and it's about to become easier. Joe has received a double promotion and is now a supervisor at Caterpillar. He will have I think about 6 guys under him and he has started interviewing ppl now! His raise pretty much covers my entire teacher salary! Crazy, I know, but even better than that, he won't be traveling nearly as much!!!!! That alone makes it worth it!

I have decided to give photography a try. Ever since working at picture people I have been interested but never had the tools to be serious about it. Now I do! For Christmas and my bday Joe got me a Canon 60D. I am currently taking a class and I'm working on building a portfolio. I don't feel qualified to charge ppl yet so I'm currently doing all totally free shoots for practice! You can find me on FB at Timeless Memories Photography! Contact me if you need pics or you can suggest my page to others on there if you think someone else might need picsThe Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-57509403381766166692010-03-10T11:46:00.001-08:002010-03-10T12:03:40.685-08:00Just a brief update!Addi is now 8 mos old!! Can't believe that in just 4 mos we will be having her 1st bday party!! I keep thinking that any day she will take off crawling, but why would she when she has mom that grabs her when she whimpers! lol She goes from sitting to all fours and she will move her hands forward to grab something, but those legs just won't go. If she's on the kitchen tile than she goes from sitting tobasically dragging her legs behind and pulling forward with her arms...it's the strangest thing!! These days she never wants to sit, I guess she thinks she is too big for that now that she can stand!! She will stand forever as long as she has something to entertain her.

I have purchased 6 cloth diapers and we are giving that a try! I'm excited, but hate to send her to a sitter in one. They probably aren't going to want to deal with that if she goes #2. She is now outgrowing her 9 month sleepers...I think they shrink a bunch first of all, but she is just getting too long. 12 month sleepers are very hard to find!! I love having the feet built in b\c I can not keep socks on her!

She is eating pretty much anything we eat. She still has cereal with fruit in the morning, but as far as actual baby food goes...I guess she is over it. She only wants to eat chunks of stuff that we are eating. We already have her hooked on El Rodeo!! She loves the rice and beans that daddy shares with her.

Joe is gone to Singapore this week. We miss him terribly!! For the first two days he was gone, Addi yelled Dadadada...Not sure if she knows what that means yet, but it's pretty cute! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-8805360335939924992010-02-15T07:25:00.001-08:002010-02-15T07:54:22.397-08:00Vday Love!!I have the best husband ever! He is so thoughtful and great with holidays! For this Vday, Joe let me sleep in, got Addi up and ready and took her with him to run errands. They came home a couple hrs. later with lots of goodies! I got a dozen red roses, a awesome boquet of tulips, my favorite cookies, and fortune cookies dipped in chocolate! YUM! He also gave me two very sweet cards from him and he must have helped Addi pick me out one too!! lol Joe had planned for us to go to Texas Roadhouse b\c that is where we had our first date. We did go there, but we ended up going with Jim and Suzanne. They were in town and didn't have their girls either. It was great to catch up with them! After dinner, Joe and I went and saw The Egde of darkness. It was rather depressing for Vday, but a good movie. After that we stopped by a couple places for a drink and then headed home!! What a great day with a great man!! Love you babeThe Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-61982587194307051992010-02-15T07:12:00.000-08:002010-02-15T07:22:33.814-08:007 mos and countingAddi made it to 7 1/2 mos and just get her first serious cold and an ear infection. Started off as just a snotty nose on Wed. and by Sunday we had a differnt child. Sunday was the longest saddest day. We took her to urgent care thinking maybe she had strep since I did just two weeks ago, but they confirmed the ear infection. She didn't know what to do with herself. She was sooo uncomfortable, she cried, I cried...it was awful. Joe is staying home with her today! I'm so lucky to have a husband who is sooo lovinging and involved! Addi definitely loves her daddy! When we went to the Dr. yesterday she weighed in at 15lbs. 11 oz.!!The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-5411548098541499392010-01-13T06:34:00.000-08:002010-01-14T18:31:40.476-08:00Mega Catch up!! lolI thought I'd be good about blogging, but I guess I was wrong! So where are we now? Well, Addi is now 6 mos old and we just had her appt. on Monday. She is 14lbs. 14oz. and 26.25" long. 25th% for weight and 75th% for height. She is rolling all over, grabbing everything and throwing it down, sitting up on her own, and now has two bottom teeth. She is eating cereal and baby food and loves when we give her potatoes from our plate. I am all done pumping and just using up my frozen supply of milk, very soon she will be a fully formula fed baby...which for some reason makes me very sad. We've been weaning for a while now and at this point she is getting 2 oz. of BM and 5 oz. of formula in her bottle.

Thanksgiving: We hosted a Thanksgiving for all of friends and their kids this year. Wow! It was great and was definately a full house. I think we had about 30 adults and 10 kids, 7 of which were under a year old. I can't wait to see all of these kiddos grow up together!

Christmas: Christmas is so different once you have a child. We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends. We hosted a Christmas at our house this year. I think it was the first time that Joe and I have gotten both of our families together for a holiday since our Wedding over three years ago. Again, it was very crowded, but a great time!! Addi was definately spoiled rotten!!

Welcome 2010!!! Wow, what could this year possibly bring. In 2009 we went to the Dominican Republic just a few days after finding out we were pregnant, we put an addition on our house, and had our beautiful little girl.

In May Joe has to go to Argentina for one of his Master degree's and I'm flying out to meet him for 4 days....I'm soooo excited, but scared to death!!!!! We still haven't left Addi over night anywhere and we will be leaving her for 4 days! I'm going to be SO lost. I try not to even think about it, it makes me sick to my stomach!!

I'm already starting to think about Addi's 1st Birthday Party! I think we are going to do a party at our house and turn it into a 4th of July party as well, not sure yet.

OH!! Tonight (Wed.) Joe is leaving for Michigan to go snowmobiling and then on Friday there are a bunch of us driving up to go skiing. We are taking Addi and then our neice Ashley and a friend are going to babysit while we are out on the slopes. We will ski all day Sat and then Sunday morning for 4 hrs. and then head back. It will be Joe, Addi and I, Ashley and her friend, Nick, Caitlin, Shane, Katie, Drew, Jill, and Mike! I can't wait!

Well...enough for now. I'll try to keep up better and get some pics postedThe Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-39797469096841741172009-10-22T11:00:00.000-07:002009-10-22T11:18:41.017-07:00Well, I went back to work this week. I had dreaded Monday for months. I knew I needed to keep it together in the morning as best as possible, but on Sunday night I was a mess. I was headed to bed and Joe was staying up to do homework and then feed her at 11pm. I was laying in bed and of course couldn't sleep when Addi woke up to eat. I had to get up and hold her again...She was being snuggly and I just cried and cried while holding her...I hated the idea of not seeing every single smile. Now here we are and it's Thursday. I've made it this far pretty well. I'm exhausted, but part of that is due to Joe being out of town and also having parent-teacher conferences Monday and Wednesday evening. The days have gone by faster than I thought they would. I can't wait until 3:15 gets here everyday so I can get home to see her. I need to do so much around the house, but I just want to play with Addi...maybe I can convince Joe to do housework! hahahahaha! J\K honey!

Enough about how I'm doing...Addi has been pretty good. She is of course more adorable by the day. She has gotten her right foot in her mouth a time or two and she has rolled from belly to back twice. She LOVES to just be talked to. She will lay on her playmat or on a blanket for an hour as long as you are keeping her entertained. She loves any toys that play music and light up. I bought a toy at a yard sale for a dollar and that was the best dollar I've ever spent! She can still wear a size one diaper, but I ran out of those and I'm now using Pampers 1-2's. She wears 3-6 month clothes now. Anything sleepers with feet in in them have to be 6 mo. I just packed up her summer clothes and everything too small. I never thought I'd be one to be sad over clothes, but now I realize it's not about the clothes at all but about her being "so" big now and growing up so fast!

Our addition has all the draywall up and done now and the walls are primered. We are planning to paint this weekend and Monday and Tuesday since I'm on fall break! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-45529572751062632392009-10-15T19:59:00.000-07:002009-10-15T20:07:09.766-07:00A few fun and/or funny things! So the other night we were getting things ready to bath Addi. We always put her little bath tub up on the kitchen table so we don't have to bend over or sit in the floor...I was getting the tub and stuff ready and Joe was in the nursery taking her clothes and diaper off. It is a pretty short walk from the nursery to the kitchen table, but when Joe had made it about 10 steps, Addi started peeing! lol It got all over the floor and some on him. She quit about the time he got to the table and as soon as her bottom hit the water, she started peeing again! I don't know where that much pee came from! haha

This week tummy time is becoming more tolerable to Addi. I had just posted a thread on justmommies.com about her not rolling over yet and the next day she rolled from her belly to back for the first time on her own. She has only done it 2-3 times, but she is getting the hang of it. She is also getting her toes in her mouth now! It's so cute so I grab the video camera to tape it and she quits! We also thing she is starting to teeth now. Yesterday was a rough day and we turned to orajel and it seemed to help her. She is slobbering like crazy and chewing on everything, especially her fists and her passie! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-10209417834116586802009-10-13T06:07:00.000-07:002009-10-13T06:28:24.631-07:00Addi and Emma

This past Friday, Ashley Shockey and her little girl Emma came over to my moms to visit. For those of you who don't know, we are adding on a family room and a large master bedroom. We are also putting in new ceramic tile floors throughout the kitchen, new backsplash, and new countertops. We are having two Thanksgivings here this year so it has to be done by the middle of Nov. We went this past week and ordered a new sectional sofa with a lg. square ottoman to match, a rectangle shaped ottoman that the lid opens up for toy storage (it is leather to match the sofa) we also ordered a new dining room table with six stools (it's one of those high tables) and also a buffet to match the table. Everything is going to be soooo nice when it is finished. We have the drywall up in the addition and it is in the process of being sanded. Later this week we are opening up the wall between the kitchen and new family room so there is a pass through! I need to get paint picked next week! YAY!!The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-13183690058553067552009-10-13T05:48:00.000-07:002009-10-13T06:00:15.110-07:00Gma KarenMy mom recently tore her achilies tendon and has surgery to repair it this past Wed. Addi and I have been going over there daily to help her get around. Since the Drs. didn't give her anything to get around with, one of her friends brought her a wheelchair to use which has been a blessing. I'm taking her back to the Dr. Tomorrow (Wed.) to have a hard cast put on. I hope everything still looks Ok when we go to the Dr. and she gets a better idea of how long she will be off of it. I know it is killing her knowing that I'm having to take Addi elsewhere when heading back to work. The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-59352095613170068592009-10-13T05:41:00.000-07:002009-10-13T05:48:07.442-07:00Here I sit while Addi sleeps this morning feeling so guilty. I was soooo tired this morning and Addi was ready to get up. I caught myself getting angry at her b\c she wouldn't go back to sleep. So we get up and head to the nursery to change her diaper and as soon as I layed her down she gave me the biggest sweetest smile. I think to myself, how can you get mad about having to be up with that amazing little girl...you only have 4 days left at home with her before going back to work. I'm dreading going back to work and possibly missing some of her firsts! I'm going to do my best to just enjoy these final few days with her...Mommy and Addi time is going to be great the rest of the week! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-67630529781416535782009-10-04T20:15:00.000-07:002009-10-04T20:35:49.547-07:00

Today we went to Exploration Acres. We knew there wouldn't be anything Addi could do at this age, but I really wanted to have this family outing for our first holiday together. There were a bunch of us! Joe, Addi and I, Dana, Jay and Jaycie,;Val, Nick, Cheyann, and Tatum; Jim Suzanne, Khloe, and Kendyll; Jon, Lorna, and Reid; Jen, Dan, and Bradley; and Emily, Jay, Collin, Carter, and Callie! It was super fun and we got lots of pics! I can't believe just a couple of years ago all of us were together having parties, playing cards, going skiing, going to the bars etc. (minus the kiddies of course) and now we all have these beautiful babies and we continue to do fun things together as families. She recently fell and tore her achilies tendon. On Friday she found out that she is having surgery on Wed. Pretty bad timing considering she is babysitting Addi when I go back to work which is in just a week! After her surgery she will be in a cast and they said crutches, but with her parkinsons we don't think she will be able to use those so more than likely she will be in a wheelchair for anywhere from 6-10 weeks! When I heard this news I broke down....the stress of her going through this and also knowing that she isn't going to be able to handle Addi from a wheelchair. So...after a couple of hours of crying and totally stressing I guess we have a plan for the next 1 weeks. First of all, tomorrow I'm going to see about getting one more week off work so that I can help mom at the house. That would be spectacular if I can do that. When I do go back, my aunt will have Addi on Mondays and Tuesdays, Joes sister Heather will have her on Wednesdays, Joes mom will have her Thursdays and my sister will have her Fridays...Ugh, poor baby won't be able to get used to anyone. At least 2 of the days she will get to be at our house. I'm pretty stressed about going back to work. I can't wait to see all my students, but on the other hand I dread not seeing Addi all day long. I don't want to miss her rolling over or her giggles or even her poopie explosions. Everone always said it was inexplainable how much you love your own child, but I realize that they are right and you really don't understand that until you have your own! I love being a mommy more than anything! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-1230576951068986602009-09-25T18:31:00.000-07:002009-09-25T18:46:00.359-07:00It was a good week! This past week, Addi and I went with Joe to Peoria, Il. He had to be there to audit a class and to work on developing his own to teach. Since it was only a three hour drive we figured it would be a good opportunity for us to go. We drove seperately so that if Addi didn't do well, then her and I could come home whenever. We left at about 10pm Sunday night in hopes that Addi would sleep the whole time, I guess we planned it well b\c she woke up once with about 30 miles to go and cried for just a minute and went back to sleep!! Holy cow...never realized how much I would have to pack for her for 5 days...I'm sure I packed way too much and things that we could have lived without such as the bottle warmer and wipe warmer, but hey! We had a room that had a semi kitchen, dining table huge "L" shaped desk in which I used as a changing table, bedroom area and large bathroom. It worked out great having the kitchen area for washing bottles. Monday we just lounged around and took naps together and played. Tuesday we got out and went to Target and the mall, Wed we went to Toys R US and McDonalds for a delicious Sweet Tea and Thursday we went for a walk around a neighborhood and a shopping center. Thursday I also packed everything up and headed back to Indiana at about 8:30. Again, Addi slept the entire way!!
Having this week where I couldn't worry about cleaning house or doing laundry or having to go get this and that was great. I really got to enjoy just hanging out with Addi with really no other cares. Getting to be with her just makes me dread going back to work in 2 weeks even harder. She is getting so strong. When she is in her swing or carseat she raises her head forward like she is trying to sit up on her own, it's so cute. She also started eating 5 oz. every 4'ish hours this week. She is our little piggy!
In all we were very luck to get to be with Joe all week instead of being home without him.The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6727399080429441625.post-33625002869354044182009-09-14T19:26:00.000-07:002009-09-14T19:45:49.627-07:00Our Very First BlogHere we are with summer quickly winding down. Holy cow has it gone by fast! So as I'm sure you all have figured out, our amazing little girl joined out family on July 6, 2009 at 7:24pm. She was 7lbs. 14 oz. and 20.5 inches long and man has she grown. She is the only infant that I have ever heard of that only gained weight from the time she was born.

Most of you probably also head that she has\had hip displasia. The day after we came home from the hospital we had to see our pediatrician for an orthopedist referal at Riley and then within a week we were seeing Dr. Loder at Riley. Long story short from our first visit, they looked at her ultrasound from Home hospital and said that they didn't see much wrong, but they wanted us back in a month to do their own U\S. Fastforward to August and another U\S, they say that her right hip socket IS shallow and whatever angle it is that they measure is at 53 degrees and they want it at 60 degrees. The decide to give it a couple more months and see if it further develops on its own! Fastforward again to September and they do another U\S and decide that it looks good enough that they aren't going to put her in a brace still and we are to come back in 2 months for a final U\S or X-Ray and if it is still looking OK, then we are done going to Riley.

Ok, moving on! At her 1 month appt. she was 9 bls 8 oz. and was 22 inches long and at her 2 month appt. she was up to 10 lbs. 13 oz. and 23 inches long. It's crazy how fast she has grown.

I knew that I would love this little girl like crazy, but man...when my hormones were still crazy, I bet I cried 5 different times just looking at her thinking how blessed I was and how beautiful she was. She has just in the past week or so found her hands and her ear?!? She is reaching for things now and I'm obsessed with working to get a smile! That smile just melts me! She is also doing alot of cooing and jabbering these days! The Brunton Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07050480837275386542noreply@blogger.com1
