WOW...I'm terrible at blogging!

like it says above...I'm terrible at blogging, but hey, at least I only have four followers to dissapoint!! lol

Here we are in February and Addi is 19 mos old. Wow, where has time gone? Hands down Addi is the best kid ever. She is so much fun, hilarious (she gets that from me :) ) inquisitive, smart, ACTIVE, full of personality (or attitude). She is about 21 lbs now and I'm proud to say that she is still rear facing in her Graco MyRide 65. It doesn't bother her at all so she will stay that way until at least two. We finally got rid of the bottle at 18 mos. It was easier than I thought it would be, but she definitely doesn't drink nearly as much milk now, which I guess is a negative. She recently has become VERY attached to her passie or as she says "boppy" I figure I'm ok with it for a while longer, but once she turns two we will get serious about getting rid of it.
It's great getting to be home with her everyday! We are so blessed that I am able to do this and it's about to become easier. Joe has received a double promotion and is now a supervisor at Caterpillar. He will have I think about 6 guys under him and he has started interviewing ppl now! His raise pretty much covers my entire teacher salary! Crazy, I know, but even better than that, he won't be traveling nearly as much!!!!! That alone makes it worth it!

I have decided to give photography a try. Ever since working at picture people I have been interested but never had the tools to be serious about it. Now I do! For Christmas and my bday Joe got me a Canon 60D. I am currently taking a class and I'm working on building a portfolio. I don't feel qualified to charge ppl yet so I'm currently doing all totally free shoots for practice! You can find me on FB at Timeless Memories Photography! Contact me if you need pics or you can suggest my page to others on there if you think someone else might need pics

Just a brief update!

Addi is now 8 mos old!! Can't believe that in just 4 mos we will be having her 1st bday party!! I keep thinking that any day she will take off crawling, but why would she when she has mom that grabs her when she whimpers! lol She goes from sitting to all fours and she will move her hands forward to grab something, but those legs just won't go. If she's on the kitchen tile than she goes from sitting tobasically dragging her legs behind and pulling forward with her arms...it's the strangest thing!! These days she never wants to sit, I guess she thinks she is too big for that now that she can stand!! She will stand forever as long as she has something to entertain her.

I have purchased 6 cloth diapers and we are giving that a try! I'm excited, but hate to send her to a sitter in one. They probably aren't going to want to deal with that if she goes #2. She is now outgrowing her 9 month sleepers...I think they shrink a bunch first of all, but she is just getting too long. 12 month sleepers are very hard to find!! I love having the feet built in b\c I can not keep socks on her!

She is eating pretty much anything we eat. She still has cereal with fruit in the morning, but as far as actual baby food goes...I guess she is over it. She only wants to eat chunks of stuff that we are eating. We already have her hooked on El Rodeo!! She loves the rice and beans that daddy shares with her.

Joe is gone to Singapore this week. We miss him terribly!! For the first two days he was gone, Addi yelled Dadadada...Not sure if she knows what that means yet, but it's pretty cute!

Vday Love!!

I have the best husband ever! He is so thoughtful and great with holidays! For this Vday, Joe let me sleep in, got Addi up and ready and took her with him to run errands. They came home a couple hrs. later with lots of goodies! I got a dozen red roses, a awesome boquet of tulips, my favorite cookies, and fortune cookies dipped in chocolate! YUM! He also gave me two very sweet cards from him and he must have helped Addi pick me out one too!! lol Joe had planned for us to go to Texas Roadhouse b\c that is where we had our first date. We did go there, but we ended up going with Jim and Suzanne. They were in town and didn't have their girls either. It was great to catch up with them! After dinner, Joe and I went and saw The Egde of darkness. It was rather depressing for Vday, but a good movie. After that we stopped by a couple places for a drink and then headed home!! What a great day with a great man!! Love you babe

7 mos and counting

Addi made it to 7 1/2 mos and just get her first serious cold and an ear infection. Started off as just a snotty nose on Wed. and by Sunday we had a differnt child. Sunday was the longest saddest day. We took her to urgent care thinking maybe she had strep since I did just two weeks ago, but they confirmed the ear infection. She didn't know what to do with herself. She was sooo uncomfortable, she cried, I cried...it was awful. Joe is staying home with her today! I'm so lucky to have a husband who is sooo lovinging and involved! Addi definitely loves her daddy! When we went to the Dr. yesterday she weighed in at 15lbs. 11 oz.!!

Mega Catch up!! lol

I thought I'd be good about blogging, but I guess I was wrong! So where are we now? Well, Addi is now 6 mos old and we just had her appt. on Monday. She is 14lbs. 14oz. and 26.25" long. 25th% for weight and 75th% for height. She is rolling all over, grabbing everything and throwing it down, sitting up on her own, and now has two bottom teeth. She is eating cereal and baby food and loves when we give her potatoes from our plate. I am all done pumping and just using up my frozen supply of milk, very soon she will be a fully formula fed baby...which for some reason makes me very sad. We've been weaning for a while now and at this point she is getting 2 oz. of BM and 5 oz. of formula in her bottle.

Thanksgiving: We hosted a Thanksgiving for all of friends and their kids this year. Wow! It was great and was definately a full house. I think we had about 30 adults and 10 kids, 7 of which were under a year old. I can't wait to see all of these kiddos grow up together!

Christmas: Christmas is so different once you have a child. We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends. We hosted a Christmas at our house this year. I think it was the first time that Joe and I have gotten both of our families together for a holiday since our Wedding over three years ago. Again, it was very crowded, but a great time!! Addi was definately spoiled rotten!!

Welcome 2010!!! Wow, what could this year possibly bring. In 2009 we went to the Dominican Republic just a few days after finding out we were pregnant, we put an addition on our house, and had our beautiful little girl.

In May Joe has to go to Argentina for one of his Master degree's and I'm flying out to meet him for 4 days....I'm soooo excited, but scared to death!!!!! We still haven't left Addi over night anywhere and we will be leaving her for 4 days! I'm going to be SO lost. I try not to even think about it, it makes me sick to my stomach!!

I'm already starting to think about Addi's 1st Birthday Party! I think we are going to do a party at our house and turn it into a 4th of July party as well, not sure yet.

OH!! Tonight (Wed.) Joe is leaving for Michigan to go snowmobiling and then on Friday there are a bunch of us driving up to go skiing. We are taking Addi and then our neice Ashley and a friend are going to babysit while we are out on the slopes. We will ski all day Sat and then Sunday morning for 4 hrs. and then head back. It will be Joe, Addi and I, Ashley and her friend, Nick, Caitlin, Shane, Katie, Drew, Jill, and Mike! I can't wait!

Well...enough for now. I'll try to keep up better and get some pics posted

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Well, I went back to work this week. I had dreaded Monday for months. I knew I needed to keep it together in the morning as best as possible, but on Sunday night I was a mess. I was headed to bed and Joe was staying up to do homework and then feed her at 11pm. I was laying in bed and of course couldn't sleep when Addi woke up to eat. I had to get up and hold her again...She was being snuggly and I just cried and cried while holding her...I hated the idea of not seeing every single smile. Now here we are and it's Thursday. I've made it this far pretty well. I'm exhausted, but part of that is due to Joe being out of town and also having parent-teacher conferences Monday and Wednesday evening. The days have gone by faster than I thought they would. I can't wait until 3:15 gets here everyday so I can get home to see her. I need to do so much around the house, but I just want to play with Addi...maybe I can convince Joe to do housework! hahahahaha! J\K honey!

Enough about how I'm doing...Addi has been pretty good. She is of course more adorable by the day. She has gotten her right foot in her mouth a time or two and she has rolled from belly to back twice. She LOVES to just be talked to. She will lay on her playmat or on a blanket for an hour as long as you are keeping her entertained. She loves any toys that play music and light up. I bought a toy at a yard sale for a dollar and that was the best dollar I've ever spent! She can still wear a size one diaper, but I ran out of those and I'm now using Pampers 1-2's. She wears 3-6 month clothes now. Anything sleepers with feet in in them have to be 6 mo. I just packed up her summer clothes and everything too small. I never thought I'd be one to be sad over clothes, but now I realize it's not about the clothes at all but about her being "so" big now and growing up so fast!

Our addition has all the draywall up and done now and the walls are primered. We are planning to paint this weekend and Monday and Tuesday since I'm on fall break!

A few fun and/or funny things!

So the other night we were getting things ready to bath Addi. We always put her little bath tub up on the kitchen table so we don't have to bend over or sit in the floor...I was getting the tub and stuff ready and Joe was in the nursery taking her clothes and diaper off. It is a pretty short walk from the nursery to the kitchen table, but when Joe had made it about 10 steps, Addi started peeing! lol It got all over the floor and some on him. She quit about the time he got to the table and as soon as her bottom hit the water, she started peeing again! I don't know where that much pee came from! haha

This week tummy time is becoming more tolerable to Addi. I had just posted a thread on justmommies.com about her not rolling over yet and the next day she rolled from her belly to back for the first time on her own. She has only done it 2-3 times, but she is getting the hang of it. She is also getting her toes in her mouth now! It's so cute so I grab the video camera to tape it and she quits! We also thing she is starting to teeth now. Yesterday was a rough day and we turned to orajel and it seemed to help her. She is slobbering like crazy and chewing on everything, especially her fists and her passie!

MY BOPPY...Don't touch!
