This past week, Addi and I went with Joe to Peoria, Il. He had to be there to audit a class and to work on developing his own to teach. Since it was only a three hour drive we figured it would be a good opportunity for us to go. We drove seperately so that if Addi didn't do well, then her and I could come home whenever. We left at about 10pm Sunday night in hopes that Addi would sleep the whole time, I guess we planned it well b\c she woke up once with about 30 miles to go and cried for just a minute and went back to sleep!! Holy cow...never realized how much I would have to pack for her for 5 days...I'm sure I packed way too much and things that we could have lived without such as the bottle warmer and wipe warmer, but hey! We had a room that had a semi kitchen, dining table huge "L" shaped desk in which I used as a changing table, bedroom area and large bathroom. It worked out great having the kitchen area for washing bottles. Monday we just lounged around and took naps together and played. Tuesday we got out and went to Target and the mall, Wed we went to Toys R US and McDonalds for a delicious Sweet Tea and Thursday we went for a walk around a neighborhood and a shopping center. Thursday I also packed everything up and headed back to Indiana at about 8:30. Again, Addi slept the entire way!!
Having this week where I couldn't worry about cleaning house or doing laundry or having to go get this and that was great. I really got to enjoy just hanging out with Addi with really no other cares. Getting to be with her just makes me dread going back to work in 2 weeks even harder. She is getting so strong. When she is in her swing or carseat she raises her head forward like she is trying to sit up on her own, it's so cute. She also started eating 5 oz. every 4'ish hours this week. She is our little piggy!
In all we were very luck to get to be with Joe all week instead of being home without him.

Our Very First Blog
Here we are with summer quickly winding down. Holy cow has it gone by fast! So as I'm sure you all have figured out, our amazing little girl joined out family on July 6, 2009 at 7:24pm. She was 7lbs. 14 oz. and 20.5 inches long and man has she grown. She is the only infant that I have ever heard of that only gained weight from the time she was born.
Most of you probably also head that she has\had hip displasia. The day after we came home from the hospital we had to see our pediatrician for an orthopedist referal at Riley and then within a week we were seeing Dr. Loder at Riley. Long story short from our first visit, they looked at her ultrasound from Home hospital and said that they didn't see much wrong, but they wanted us back in a month to do their own U\S. Fastforward to August and another U\S, they say that her right hip socket IS shallow and whatever angle it is that they measure is at 53 degrees and they want it at 60 degrees. The decide to give it a couple more months and see if it further develops on its own! Fastforward again to September and they do another U\S and decide that it looks good enough that they aren't going to put her in a brace still and we are to come back in 2 months for a final U\S or X-Ray and if it is still looking OK, then we are done going to Riley.
Ok, moving on! At her 1 month appt. she was 9 bls 8 oz. and was 22 inches long and at her 2 month appt. she was up to 10 lbs. 13 oz. and 23 inches long. It's crazy how fast she has grown.
I knew that I would love this little girl like crazy, but man...when my hormones were still crazy, I bet I cried 5 different times just looking at her thinking how blessed I was and how beautiful she was. She has just in the past week or so found her hands and her ear?!? She is reaching for things now and I'm obsessed with working to get a smile! That smile just melts me! She is also doing alot of cooing and jabbering these days!
